Very good vets. Attentive to details and helpful

We were referred here from our vets in hemel hempstead due to our puppy'sknee cap kept popping out. Mark the vet was very good at explaining what the op would entail and he assured us that our pup would be in good care. She was kept in for 2 nights and on picking her up the vet wasn't there. Also my husband and my dad had to wait over half an hour to be seen by nurses then they tried to over charge us for £1000 when we'd already paid 3k. My husband disputed this and the nurses said there was a mistake and charged us £400 big difference. My dog has come out smelling awful and we feel that some of her fur was shaved off unnecessarily. Overall very poor service and will instruct our vets not to refer anyone from Hertfordshire. It's such a pain to get to. Don't go to meads vets

They are very kind and professional, always willing to help and explain everything related to your pet condition. It´s a relief that they offer emergency service 24/7 and that they share information with other clinics within their group, so you can attend either one if needed.

DOESN’T ALLOW ME TO RATE ZERO STARS WARNING: Please avoid this vet practice. Our dog nearly died due to the shocking level of negligence and unprofessional care at Mead Vets in Dartford. We brought our dog in after a fall and were told she was “99% fine” and her leg wasn’t broken. Days later we called back as she still wasn’t walking or going to the toilet etc and was asked to send in videos of her leg via WhatsApp, we did so and were told it was broken and to bring her in. While waiting, we witnessed a serious dog attack in the waiting room that staff did nothing about. The same dog that attacked the other dog was allowed back in the waiting room minutes later without a muzzle. After being sedated for X-rays and then sedated again for surgery, our dog went into cardiac arrest. The vet delivered the news bluntly, made inappropriate comments, and gave completely contradictory information about her heart. We were told she had a heart condition and might need to be put to sleep as she would have no quality of life living with a fractured femur or we could attempt surgery again and amputate the leg. The vet dealing with our dog told my partner to get me a triple scotch on the rocks after delivering this news. A specialist later confirmed she has NO heart issues at all. They also told us the X-rays Mead Vets sent them were taken on a mobile phone, and that our dog had fluid on her lungs which Mead said she didn’t on the medical notes. The medication she supposedly “reacted to” at Mead was safely used again with no problems — suggesting she was given too much or too quickly. We received no discharge notes, no proper monitoring, and were asked to collect her after being warned she could “die in her sleep.” The entire experience was traumatic, unsafe, and completely unacceptable. We have now spent nearly £9,000 fixing the mess caused by Mead Vets. Please think twice before trusting them with your pet’s life. I can confirm our dog is a healthy nearly 3 year old chihuahua and is thankfully recovering amazingly after being seen by proper professionals who know what they are doing.
