Just the best service - approachable, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Sorted out a mess left by a BMW main dealer.

I will give 3* because of previous good work as when I bought my XKR i saw that Prestige had previously done work on the car and as I had a couple of issues that were covered under my warranty I took it to Mark. I got the waterpump and aircon compressor changed under warranty and all seemed fine. In late Sept 2024 I experienced a misfire and huge amount of smoke from the exhaust. I took the car to Mark and he diagnosed a fault with injector 4 ( I had done a home diagnosis with same result ) he promptly told me that the e give would have suffered bore wash and I would need a new engine. This was without even opening the bonnet. I spoke to friends who told me that bore wash after driving the car home just a couple of miles was doubtful. I emailed Mark to say I thought it was most likely an injector issue and could he price for changing the even back plugs and injectors x 4, I even purchased plugs and injectors as I was going to attempt the job myself. Mark replied back just saying what he did before that the engine was ruined and I would need a new one. Now I respect and take on board an experts opinion but this was just bizarre when he hadn't even inspected the car. Anyway I couldn't do the job myself so I took it elsewhere and a change of injectors and plugs sorted the car out, I have been driving it now for a few months with no issues. Unfortunately Mark had lost a repeat service and maintenance customer, all because of a previous problem with the same engine in a different car that could have been driven for hundreds of miles with the issue, making it far worse than it needed to be, mine was driven around 3/4 miles maximum. As I said the previous work cas carried out completely satisfactory.

So many people writing their review/experience problems here can't all be wrong. I Wish I'd read the reviews first...Please people read these before you get ripped off from your hard earned cash. I went to Mark, the so-called "Maserati expert" ; he had diagnosed that I had a blown engine on my Maserati. He advised me to buy a replacement engine that he had found which I paid £1700 cash for, confirming to me that it was the correct one and that I should get it quick before it goes as they are rare. I then spoke to him in giving me a quote to fit it. He confirmed to me with two witnesses at the time that he would take my old engine out, take all ancillaries off and replace the new engine and fit for £1800 CASH, totalling 3 days work. I agreed. He then started work on my vehicle. Half way into the job he had called me to tell me that the engine that HE "THE MASERATI EXPERT" told me to buy was in fact incorrect, and that I had to look for another. Mark would take no responsibility for giving me his expert advice to buy that engine that was incorrect. After a long heated discussion with him and him knowing I was in a catch 22 position with my car in bits in his workshop, I had no choice but to get another engine. I "A BUS DRIVER" found a correct one and purchased it for £3000. I have now spent well over £4700 through no fault of mine, but had to get my car out of there so let him continue to put the correct engine in. I hope you guys are still with me with this experience as I am trying to give you a short version. So. He now has the correct engine and we are weeks into the job, with all the waiting around for his mistake. He then calls me when I am away on holiday and tells me he has completed the job and is ready to pick up. I went to see him upon my return. OOOOOOMMMMMMMGGGGGGGG He slaps me with a £5500 bill.....WHAT!!!! He says because of the time it took, the additional work.. What additional work? You have not called me to tell me about any additional work. If you go to Ford to get them to diagnose a problem and they say its the Starter motor for instance, and tell you to go get this part from the parts department and it turns out the wrong one they will take full responsibility for getting you to buy the wrong part, That's why you go to a specialist right?. OH NO not this guy. He took no responsibility whatsoever and then charged me for the extra work and time the car was there. He said that I could sell the incorrect engine that he told me to buy to get my money back for it but he wouldn't buy it off me as a "MASERATI EXPERT" What the hell am I going to do with an engine as a bus driver. Really!? With me having said that I am going to find it hard to pay for the £5500 bill explaining that I had already paid for £4700 out for engines he then started shouting and swearing (see the pattern with the other reviews?) and that he would sell my car for the money. After a while of me trying to negotiate the price for his mistakes and the time it took when it was his time and not mine I paid the bill and took my car. Part cash part bank transfer. 3 weeks later after a breakdown it was back to him for a water leak and a shredded auxiliary belt that he had failed to change even under those charges. DISGUSTING LONG and SHORT of this... He is no expert. He will give you an estimate to get you in, He will do additional work without telling you then charging you fortunes. Threatening you with the sale of your vehicle for his charges. As I said from the very beginning.. Read the other reviews, we cannot all be lying. This MARK will reply and put some silly excuses. The fact is Mark you got it wrong, your charges for additional work that you decide to do as and when you decide to do it and for the cost you decide at the time is best for you is bad business practice and its about time it ends. You have done this tooooo many times to tooooo many people as these reviews prove. AND BUY THE WAY GOOD PEOPLE READING THIS....I HAVE AN ENGINE FOR SALE FOR A MASERATI IF YOU KNOW ANYONE PLEASE CONTACT ME?
